Unlike internal solid state drives, recovering deleted files from USB flash drives isn’t difficult. Formatting USB flash drives will help prevent recovery, but only if you use the normal format.

There are times we want to make sure that deleted files from a USB drive stay deleted. For those instances, make sure to avoid quick formatting your drive so that prying eyes won’t have the chance to uncover erased files.
